Since my first Chicago stay, I've felt inspired by my beloved Chicago-music-teachers to run classes in songwriting, guitar and singing. Eager to bring forward that super inspiring way of sharing music skills and musical motivation I was so lucky to have met thru my Chicago teachers and mentors.
I was carrying an idea in my head. I wanted to bring into class: creating music and developing skills – theoretically just as well as practical – supporting the students in feeling good about the whole learning process (working with their inner critics) along side with most needed knowledge about how to take the music to stage or sharing it thru the net. And last but not least I wanted the students to be having a great time sharing music with others.
In 2009 I shared my ideas with the music school Rytmisk Center in Copenhagen and I started working there the same year specializing in teaching the combo classes: Guitar & Songwriting and Guitar & Vocals. The classes – luckily – became a big succes and these days I teach classes for kids and youngsters as well as adult classes and now even also at the FOF-evening school in Copenhagen.
A student one time realized that she had difficulties in continuing a guitar/singing class because of becoming a mom - since the regular music programmes aren't fitted to bring babies.
I was sad to see her go because I think everybody should be able to attend music classes no matter where they are in their life. Luckily Rytmisk Center agrees heavily in this view and so in 2011 I started to run Guitar & Vocals classes for parents on maternity leave. It makes me really happy to see parents grow from playing and singing they're favourite songs while their little ones enjoy the music from colourful blankets on the class room floor!
My classes all run during the music school seasons and even off season during Summer school.
